W.B. Yeats was an Irish poet, playwright, and one of the foremost figures of 20th century literature. Born in Dublin in 1865, Yeats was heavily influenced by Irish folklore and mysticism, which can be seen in much of his work. He was a driving force behind the Irish Literary Revival, and his work often dealt with themes of love, nature, and the supernatural. Yeats was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1923. He died in 1939.
