Albert Camus was a French philosopher, author, and journalist. He is best known for his existentialist and absurdist works, such as "The Stranger", "The Plague", "The Myth of Sisyphus" and "The Rebel." His ideas and writings focused on the human condition and the search for meaning in a meaningless world. He was a key figure in the development of 20th century philosophy and literature, and his work continues to be widely read and studied today. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1957. Camus believed in individual freedom, and his work reflected his belief that the human condition is ultimately absurd, but that it is possible to find meaning and happiness in life.
