Susan B Anthony was an American women's rights activist, suffragist, and abolitionist. She was born in 1820 and grew up in a Quaker family that believed in equality for all people. In 1851, she met Elizabeth Cady Stanton and together they formed the Women's Loyal National League, which campaigned for the abolition of slavery. They also formed the National Woman Suffrage Association in 1869 to fight for women's right to vote. Susan B. Anthony was arrested in 1872 for voting in the presidential election and was found guilty. Despite this setback, she continued to campaign for women's rights until her death in 1906.
