Michael Faraday was an English scientist and one of the most influential figures in the history of electromagnetism. He discovered electromagnetic induction and diamagnetism, and is credited with discovering electromagnetic rotations, which is the principle behind the electric motor. Faraday's work laid the foundation for the development of electric generators and transformers. He was also an accomplished experimentalist, and his work with electromagnetic fields helped pave the way for the development of modern physics. Faraday is considered one of the greatest experimentalists in the history of science. He died in 1867.
