Gerald Ford was the 38th President of the United States, serving from 1974 to 1977. He was the first president to take office as a result of a presidential resignation, following the Watergate scandal. Ford was known for his leadership during a time of economic turmoil, and for his efforts to bring the country together after the Watergate scandal. He also played a key role in the Cold War, signing the Helsinki Accords and working to improve relations with the Soviet Union. He passed away in 2006.
