Warren G. Harding was the 29th President of the United States, serving from 1921 until his death in 1923. He was a Republican from Ohio and a newspaper publisher before becoming President. Harding's presidency was marred by scandal, including the Teapot Dome scandal, in which government officials accepted bribes for oil leases. Despite this, Harding's presidency also saw a return to normalcy after World War I and an economic boom known as the "Roaring Twenties."
