Jack London was an American novelist, journalist, and social activist. He was born in San Francisco in 1876 and is best known for his adventure novels such as The Call of the Wild, White Fang and The Sea-Wolf. He is considered one of the most widely read authors in the world, and his works have been translated into many languages. London's writing was heavily influenced by his own experiences as a sailor, gold prospector, and hobo, and he wrote about the struggles of the working class and the harsh realities of life in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He died in 1916, but his legacy continues to inspire readers and writers.
