Hugo Gernsback was a Luxembourg-American inventor, writer, editor, and publisher, who is known as the "father of science fiction". He was born in 1884 in Luxembourg and immigrated to the United States in 1904. In 1926, he founded Amazing Stories, the first magazine devoted solely to science fiction. He is also credited with coining the term "science fiction" and his work helped to popularize the genre. He published several science fiction novels, including Ralph 124C 41+. Gernsback also invented and developed many devices that were precursors to modern technology, such as the television and the wireless telephone. He died in 1967.
